    Not only is coconut water benefical for nursing moms, but it is great for your baby too! Coconut water contains lauric acid which is anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-viral, thus it helps protect babies against various infections. If that wasn’t enough, its been proven to increase fertility, and helps when you have that dreaded morning sickness. Coconut water make breast milk more nutritious and can even help you get back to your pre-pregnancy weight more quickly. This will be a definite must have during my next pregnancy!

    I can see there are tons of benefits for me and my baby but I’m also wondering if it will have any effect on my child’s colic behaviors. My daughter has a lot of gas and she often is fussy. Is coconut milk okay for her sensitive stomach too? Otherwise, I would love to start drinking this product to help me lose my baby weight! I’m gonna give this product a try and continue to use it because like amber says, it’s going to help with my next pregnancy too!

    Interesting. I have nursed 3 babies and I have felt the dehydration that goes along with it. It can be a real struggle to get all the fluids and electrolytes one needs to produce a sufficient supply for both your body and your milk-which is your baby’s livelihood! There were times where I could tell I wasn’t drinking enough because I wasn’t producing as much as I had been. I wish I had known of all the wonderful benefits of coconut water then, because it would have been a key weapon in my arsenal in making the best milk for my baby and combating decreased supply (the few times I experienced it- such as after an illness). Not sure if any more babies are in my future, but this is definitely something I will keep tucked in the back of my mind if it is!

    I never knew that about nursing mothers in tropical regions, I do however know the importance of proper electrolytes in your body and that nursing moms do have alot of issues dehydration. I am not nursing amymore but Im pretty sure it is still benficial.
